As we enjoy the gentle warmth of spring, we can already feel the excitement of summer just around the corner.
We are thrilled to announce the return of the ever-popular Kodomo edu Summer Camp 2026!
From Experience to Learning
Three Weeks of Play That Shape the Future
This year’s Kodomo edu Summer Camp is built around three project-based inquiry experiences where children explore the world by fully immersing themselves in different roles.
Spatial Designer. Chef. Journalist.
Through each theme, children will develop the ability to create, think, and communicate.
These are not simply fun activities.
Children will ask questions, experiment, shape ideas into reality, and share them with others.
This process nurtures the essential “non-cognitive skills” needed in the age of AI.
We hope you’ll join us in creating unforgettable summer memories.

Dates
Week 1: August 3 (Mon) – August 7 (Fri), 2026
Week 2: August 17 (Mon) – August 21 (Fri), 2026
Week 3: August 24 (Mon) – August 28 (Fri), 2026
Time
9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Extended childcare available until 5:00 PM.
Age Group
Children ages 3–6 years old (Nensho-Nencho Age)
Fees
Current Students: ¥55,000 + tax / week
Non-Students: ¥60,500 + tax / week
5-days Extended Care Package until 5 PM: ¥16,500 + tax
Early drop-off options:
From 8:00 AM: ¥1,800 + tax / day
From 8:30 AM: ¥800 + tax / day
For current students, camp fees will be billed together with August tuition at the end of July.
Lunch
Lunch can be ordered for ¥432 per meal (tax included).
Lunch orders must be placed at least one week in advance.
Menus and allergy information are available through the order form and lunch ordering site.
Please check carefully if your child has food allergies.
Lunch cancellations are accepted until 1:00 PM the day before.
Week 1 “Creating Our Community Space Together”
In Week 1, children begin by exploring how design can improve the spaces we share as a community.
They start with questions such as:
How can we make our classroom even more wonderful?
What makes a space feel comfortable and welcoming for everyone?
As they search for answers, children will create tablecloths and fabric artworks through activities such as tie-dye and textile art.
A key focus of the week is the exploration of patterns.
Through experimenting with colors, repeating shapes, and balance, children will discover the foundations of design in a hands-on, intuitive way.
The finished creations will actually be used in the classroom.
By beautifying a shared space with their own hands, children begin to develop:
A desire to care for and contribute to the spaces around them
A sense of belonging within their community
Week 2: From Home to Community
“Sharing What Matters to Me with Others”
Week 2 connects home and community through food and business.
Children begin by reflecting on their own homes and families:
What kinds of moments do we share as a family?
What foods do we make at home?
What is something I love and want to share with others?
Families are welcome to bring favorite home recipes if they wish.
From there, the project grows into creating a lemonade stand-style mini business.
Children will think about:
What should we make? Lemonade? Popsicles?
What flavors should we create?
How can we make people happy?
How do we share our ideas with others?
Rather than simply making something, children learn to create with the intention of sharing and connecting.
Throughout the week, they develop:
A sense of home and personal roots
A sense of belonging
The ability to think creatively for others
Most importantly, they experience what it means to:
Connect something personally meaningful with the wider community.
Week 3: The Voice of the Community
“Connecting with the World Through Communication”
Week 3 focuses on helping children express what they see, think, and feel.
Children explore questions such as:
What is happening around us right now?
What do we want to tell others?
Who are we speaking to, and how can we reach them?
Using observation, conversations, and interviews, children will create the Kodomo edu Newspaper.
Through the newspaper-making process, children learn how to:
Gather information
Listen carefully to others
Organize ideas
Communicate clearly
They come to understand through experience that:
Communication means thinking about the other person.
The finished newspaper becomes a collection of each child’s unique perspective and voice.
It is not simply a project—it becomes the voice of the community itself.
What Makes Kodomo edu Summer Camp Special
